Downhill Miracles is an intimate, high‑impact, short‑form documentary (approx. 20–30 minutes) that explores how a community sports program can become a vital engine for education, healing, and hope. At its core, the film highlights the immense importance of STEM education and the transformative role that Soap Box Derby racing plays within local communities—serving as a hands‑on classroom where young racers master engineering, physics, teamwork, and self‑belief.
Using the extraordinary journey of the Tilley family from Oak Ridge, Tennessee, as its central narrative thread, the documentary illustrates the deep, real‑world impact of this sport. Their story serves as a powerful testament to how God works through everyday people, divine “Godwinks,” and breakthrough miracle drugs to bring healing in the darkest hours. Through raw interviews, archival footage, and cinematic re‑enactments, the film connects the grit of gravity racing to vital social pillars: advancing youth STEM programs, driving cancer awareness, and championing organ‑donation advocacy.
This documentary serves as a highly efficient, dual‑purpose project: a powerful standalone film with active broadcast interest from PBS, and an undeniable visual proof‑of‑concept for our $1.5M–$5M feature film package Downhill Miracles.
This November, Tekmerion Productions and I are heading to Chattanooga to film a short documentary honoring youth STEM racing, health survival, and organ donor awareness in memory of my daughter, Jamie.
To bring this vision to life, we are rolling out a two-part production strategy through our production entity, Tekmerion Productions.
Phase 1 — Startup & Teaser Fund (Any Amount): Covers our immediate hard shoot costs, ASAP(crew travel, gear, meals) to capture a 5-minute proof-of-concept teaser.
